Makati Hope Christian School, a private and non-sectarian educational institution, was established in 1985. In addition to the curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education, it offers Chinese Language Arts, Computer Courses, Accounting and Bible subjects. English is used as the medium of instruction except in Filipino and Chinese Language Arts classes. As a Christian school, it aims to instill Christian values among the young minds. Its curriculum aims to develop a well-rounded personality. Each student is provided with learning experiences that enable him to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially.
The school started operation with 25 kindergarten pupils and five school personnel in 1985. As of school year 2006-2007, the student population has increased to more than 900 and the highly competent and dedicated school personnel has reached 140. Preschool Department has 268 pupils and 25 teachers. We have 377 Elementary students and 261 High School students. We have 21 faculty members in the elementary level while 23 teachers in the secondary level. We even have 118 foreign students from 11 different nationalities.
In 1986, the Preschool Department was granted recognition by DECS permit No. P-0066 series 1986. In 1989, the Elementary Department was granted recognition permit No. E-0001 series 1989. In 1993, government recognition was granted to the High School Department by DECS permit No. S-103 series 1993. The school has graduated 13 batches of high school students since. Our average graduate finds no difficulty in getting accepted by the prestigious universities in Metro-Manila. Many of them graduated with honors, some even became topnotchers in their respective board examinations. In general, our elementary and high school graduates have been getting a percentile rank of 90 or above in the annual national tests administered by both local and international institutions.
The school aims to produce high school graduates who are assets not only to their families but also to their community. They are individuals with technical and social skills, God-fearing hearts, social responsibility, good mental and physical health. The direction of the continued development of the school is guided by its missions, visions and goals.
