COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The Christian Values Education (CVE) subject is the Values Education component of the MAKABAYAN area. This subject aims to provide the students with meaningful experiences and opportunities to enable them to

  1. Understand the Christian view of God, man, and the world as expressed in the Bible;
  2. Decide to allow God to foster change, revival and transformation in their lives through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit; and
  3. Develop Christian virtues and values as a result of the transformation in their lives by the Holy Spirit and the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The three components of Christian Values Education are as follows:

Bible Class – a weekly 40-minute period designed for study of the Word of God in a systematic and disciplined way through observation, interpretation and application of the text. These will enable the students to comprehend and apply to their lives the biblical doctrines.

Homeroom Sessions – a daily 15-minute session with the class adviser provides the reinforcement of the Bible lessons. The focus of homeroom sessions is the development of Christian values and virtues.

Chapel Time - a weekly 40 minute period designed to be a public worship of the students where the word of God is preached and the students are given opportunity to offer their talents to God, respond publicly to God’s call and be witnesses to God through sharing of testimonies.
